The same year that The United States of America was born, Saint Junipero Serra founded Mission San Juan Capistrano in an effort to bring Christianity to California. Today, the mission, which is visited by tens of thousands each year, is a uniquely Southern-California-style haven for arts, faith and history. The combination of the mission’s architecture and the desert atmosphere is a breathtaking backdrop for photos, so when a few friends and I decided we wanted to put together a little styled shoot just for fun, we new exactly where to go.
Our radiant model, with her hair intricately curled, twisted and braided into one of the most gorgeous bridal styles I’ve ever seen, stood out as a gentle contrast to the harsh landscape around her…and was very talented at wielding the flowing skirt of her gown! The brilliant red bouquet was such a stunner! It was a bold pop of color in the sandy setting, but it also matched perfectly with the flowers naturally growing at the mission.
This photoshoot was a welcome opportunity to get away for a day with some film and great friends. Check out some of my favorites from this Mission San Juan Capistrano styled bridal shoot below.
