I am so thrilled to share some images from a wedding I photographed on Sunday, May 24th. For me, this wedding was a game-changer and I had been anxiously waiting for eight months for this day. The Queen Mary was the absolute perfect setting, Lam and Harry have a love for one another that I've only seen in fairytales, the flowers were stunning, and the view was amazing. From start to finish I was on the ship all day to capture the story of Lam and Harry and I am so honored that they trusted me to be their photographer.
I met Lam and Harry back in October when they booked me for an engagement session. Upon meeting them, I instantly got a sense of a outgoing, upbeat, and sincere energy from these two. I couldn't wait to get them in front of the camera! Once they chose me to photograph their big day I was beyond excited to work with them again.
Their wedding day was beautiful. Hands down that is the only word to describe the whole day. As I boarded The Queen Mary, I instantly felt all the history that the ship has to offer and I couldn't wait to check out more. I met Lam and Harry in their suite where everyone was getting ready. Lam was such a relaxed bride and Harry was always smiling throughout the getting ready process. Harry got himself and his two boys ready first so that we could have an element of surprise later when he sees Lam for the first time. Once Harry left the room Lam continued getting ready and had some seriously awesome bridal style. First, her dress by Jenny Lee Bridal was stunning and perfect for her, she had a "birdcage" that went perfectly with her updo, a bouquet beautiful yellow tulips, Tiffany's wedding band, and to top it all off she had a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choo heels. The whole look together was absolutely gorgeous. Once the girls got ready we all went upstairs to do a first look on the sun deck because it was less crowded. Their smiles just say it all, and I couldn't wait to do the bride and groom portrait session before the ceremony. It was great, we had extra time (keep in mind, this does NOT happen at weddings!) to go explore and get some great shots.
Then it was time for the ceremony which was also on the sky deck, and it was beautiful. The sun was shining, there was an award winning violinist, the aisle was lined with some of the most gorgeous flowers I had ever seen, and a white gazebo. They also had a sand ceremony to symbolize the two of them coming together, I absolutely love this at ceremonies. . especially because the couple can have it forever as a keepsake from their special day.
Once the ceremony was over we all met in front of the Verandah Grill for group photos and cocktail hour, then it was time to move inside. The reception space was awesome, the dance floor was right at the entrance along with their head table. The tables were decorated beautifully with vases filled with water and seashells. The flowers were spring colors of whites, greens, oranges, and yellows along with light teal accents on the tables. Between the historic feel of The Queen Mary along with Lam's choice of decor it felt very elegant and classy. Lam and Harry did most of the decision making on their own when it came to what they wanted. It definitely was beneficial because after working with them for the past eight months it definitely felt like "their style".
I had so much fun and once again, I'm sad it's over. These two lovebirds were so fun to work with and easy going. They are definitely a perfect fit for each other and I wish them nothing but happiest ever after!
Congratulations Lam + Harry
