Family Photos Fall 2018-17.jpg

Thank you for stopping by, I'm so happy you're here!

I'm honored that you're interested in our team for your most important day! We offer years of experience,  multiple features on some of the most exclusive wedding blogs, and so much love for weddings! It would be an honor to tell your love story through beautiful photographs!

From booking to image delivery, my goal is to provide an experience that leaves you with a happy heart, stunning photographs and memories you will cherish for years to come. Our hearts sing in the key of naturally lit outdoor venues, and we leap at any chance to rush off to a desert engagement, garden wedding or vineyard reception. Natural light is key to the Alicia Mink style and best for our preferred medium: film.  But while we love film, our team is hybrid, so we also incorporate digital shots into any wedding day to give our couples the best result.

Gillian and myself believe firmly in the essential connection between clients and their photographer. Through personal connections, we are able to tell your story in the most honest, authentic way. Comfort with your photographer brings down walls, allowing the real moments to shine through. It also allows you to live in the moment, so we can capture it for you to treasure long after the wedding flowers fade. Alicia Mink only offers one lead associate on the team so we can ensure you have the best experience possible and so we can treat your wedding with the utmost care and attention.

From Alicia: “Gillian is truly an extension of myself and I couldn't imagine sending anybody else in my place to take care of my couples. Not only is she a spectacular photographer, she's also mom of two, a wife, and loves dogs! She's great with helping couples feel comfortable, capturing those special in-between moments, and is a joy to be around. Once she's finished up photographing all of the genuine moments of your wedding day, she sends me the images to be edited in the true Alicia Mink style.”

We look forward to hearing your story and finding out if we make a good match!

Film is a timeless medium and is used on numerous occasions on the day of the wedding as well as digital photography. Both are exclusive and best for specific conditions. By choosing to be a hybrid photographers we can give our couples the very best of both film and digital photography. Film produces the most gorgeous skin tones, delivering a timeless aesthetic while digital is great for speed and reliability. Over the years and lots (and lots!) of practice we have been able to look at the film photos in tandem with the images from my digital camera and match them so close that it’s quite hard to tell which is which! The film acts as a reference to all of the digital editing so that you’ll receive a consistent, timeless look throughout your final wedding gallery.

I want you to be able to feel the moments of your wedding while you scroll through your images. I want them to be beautiful, timeless, and honest. This is why I shoot film and Gillian does too!

To capture the moments of genuine, honest emotion between two people in love, we believe it is unquestionably essential to build a connection between the couple and the photographer. One of the best ways to do so is by having an engagement session! By getting to know our couples, learning their stories and listening to their hopes for the future, we are able to draw out their personalities and help them to relax in front of the camera. We thrive on the natural and the unstaged, rather than tired, overused poses. Engagement sessions are a perfect way to get to get comfortable with your photographer before the big day, but most of all, they are so much fun! After booking, I provide a variety of engagement session tips, and we will chat about everything from location to wardrobe as we create a session that is perfectly you!

No matter how many weddings we photograph, we treat each one with the care and attention that we would treat our own, and embrace each as a unique expression of love. Alicia commits to collaborating with all couples on everything from décor and lighting ideas to guest lists and timelines, preparing them for what to expect on the big day. Throughout the wedding planning process, Alicia makes herself available to answer any questions or be a sounding board for ideas, and after booking, couples receive all of Alicia’s favorite wedding photography tips! It is of the highest importance to us that your experience from booking to flipping through your gorgeous, fine art, album is joyful, exceptional and stress free!

Q: What makes your work different from other photographers’ work?
A: In a world where anyone can pick up a camera, Alicia is grateful to have had the opportunity to receive a Bachelor’s of Fine Art with a specialization in Photography. She’s properly educated in the creative and technical aspects of fine art photography - this includes making sure that all of her images are consistent in editing and shooting style - even when she is not the photographer at your wedding. Gillian and your second shooter shoot in both traditional film format and the latest professional grade digital cameras & lenses. Since early 2017, I have been working on passing all of this knowledge to Gillian. We both absolutely adore the timeless feel of film, but love the speed and reliability of digital and have the greatest passion for documenting life’s greatest moments. Our work is consistently featured in top weddings blogs such as Style Me Pretty, The Know, Green Wedding Shoes, Brides, and more!

Q: How long until we receive our photos after our wedding?
A: Please allow up to 10 weeks for a full wedding gallery and up to 4 weeks for a full engagement session gallery. Film has to be dropped off to the lab, developed, and scanned back to me which takes a lot of time. Once I receive the film scans I then start the process to matching the digital photographs with the film photographs which will give you a cohesive, beautiful, final gallery.

Q: How many photographers will be there at our wedding?
A: For all day associate collections, there will always be two photographers at your wedding in order to get multiple perspectives and extra shots of all of the details. Gillian and one of our second photographers are great at capturing falling tears, sweet embraces, and more loving moments throughout your wedding.

Q: Will we get featured in a magazine or blog?
A: Although many of our shoots and weddings do get featured, this is not something that is guaranteed. Most publishers are interested in colorful, uniquely designed weddings!

Q: How many photos will we receive in our final gallery?
A: This really varies depending on guest count, details, and hours booked. I do guarantee a minimum of 75 final, edited images per hour booked.

Q: Do I have to order prints through you?
A: I highly recommend ordering prints through my professional lab, but it is not required. The difference in quality is HUGE when it comes to ordering through a local printer and a professional lab, so we encourage clients to let us help with prints! Each collection comes with a print release.

Q: What equipment do you use?
A: We use all of the latest Nikon or Canon equipment, medium format film cameras, and 35 mm film cameras. All of our pieces have a backup in the rare event that anything should occur to one of our cameras or lenses.
